What is Tallowmere 2?
Tallowmere 2 is a computer game being developed by Chris McFarland. It will be the sequel to the original Tallowmere.
What is Tallowmere II being made with?
Currently I'm using Unity 5.3.x with C#.
What will the gameplay be like?
Lady Tallowmere's precious kittens have been captured and must be saved. Will you be up for the task?
At its core, Tallowmere II will have you jumping around various dungeons, deflecting damage with your shield, and slaying enemies for loot.
Doing a one-up on its predecessor, there will be various overworld maps and areas to traverse with many different dungeons to overcome. There will be unlockables, character classes, many more enemy types, bosses, and a slew of new items and weapons to acquire and use.
As well as local couch co-op, there will also be network multiplayer this time around, and mod support.
Initial focus will be for Windows, OS X, and Linux, most likely through Steam. Very keen to do an Early Access during the alpha and beta stages, as player feedback is extremely valuable.
Once the game is done, mobile versions for iPhone, iPad, and Android will be created. And depending on how Tallowmere's console ports go, you might see Tallowmere II come to consoles too.
Time will tell. I hope to have alpha access be playable and available mid-2016, but it might be more towards the end of 2016.
I imagine the game will be done late 2017.
For what it's worth, the core of the original Tallowmere took me about 6 months, with a few light months of polish after that. But at the same time, Tallowmere was a much smaller game with a smaller scope. Tallowmere II will be much bigger, so will take longer. It will be done when it's done.
